BAYANO CAVES TOUR

We will meet on the beautiful lake at Bayano Aventura, a few miles from the paved road of the Pan American Highway. You will be greeted by your guide who will provide you with a life jacket and a helmet with a light for use in the cave. The captain of the local boat will take you on a relaxing boat ride that takes approximately 30 minutes, around the Bayano Lake islands and the caves. We will hike a short distance to the entrance of the cave. Once inside the cave you will walk through the water and on the rocks, sometimes in the dark! Let's go deeper into the cave to see the rock formations, pools of water, some filled with hundreds of small fish, colorful frogs and something important, several hundred and hundreds of bats! In several places, the roof of the cave opens and you see the entrance in incredible rays of sunlight that illuminate the cave and all its wonders inside. You will be led by the guide who will ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience. We will be in the cave for about 2 hours, so there is plenty to see! After a visit to the cave, you can enjoy a simple but delicious lunch, as you watch some of the hundreds of species of birds that call "your house" at Lake Bayano and most likely, howler monkeys!
