Just 2 hours from Panama City, we arrive at Portobelo, in the province of Colon. Historical site and point of commerce where they transferred the gold and riches that would be sent to Spain. A very famous place of Pirates and Corsairs.
We can find artifacts from colonial times, pistols, cannons, sunken galleons and countless relics from the time of the conquest by pirates, corsairs and the Spanish navy. The National Park of Portobelo has 35,929 hectares, of which 22.4% is marine area, there are coral reefs along the entire coast, is one of the largest biodiversity in the world and has classified more than 53 species of Corals in the marine area and associated fauna. There is a great variety of mangrove species that are habitats of diverse species.

On these beaches, octopus, snails, crabs, crabs, lobsters, oysters, and others highly coveted by man are often observed. In the immediate vicinity of Drake Island lies Sir Francis Drake (old pirate), Arrecife Salmedina are ancient semi-submerged rocks that sank a good amount of galleons.
